Big White Ski Resort in British Columbia has everything you need to enjoy a trip packed with world-class skiing or snowboarding.
But part of the fun of visiting a renowned resort, like Big White, is taking in everything it has to offer, from dining to outdoor adventures. There’s plenty to do at Big White; from private wine tastings and culinary experiences to massages and more, you can experience luxury travel from every angle. Here are three itinerary ideas to get you started on planning your epic Winter 2021-2022 trip to Big White Ski Resort.
#1: A Classic Big White Itinerary
- Early Morning: After a restful night’s sleep, you’ll wake up and get yourself ready for an early morning ski. Enjoy the champagne powder covered trails and the fresh air to re-energize for the day. Explore our Big White Trail Map for a helpful visual of the mountain’s trails. Most chairlifts at Big White open at 8:45 am.
- Late Morning: Head out with your party for a tasty Steak & Eggs or Blackstone Benedict brunch at the Black Diamond Bar & Grill. This Big White bar & grill has a warm and welcoming atmosphere with delicious food offerings for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Early Afternoon: Book a private wine tasting with expert Sommelier Jo Carlile. With her fun approach and wealth of knowledge, Jo will bring the wine tasting right into the relaxed space of your luxury rental. And with delicious pairings to align with your curated tasting, this is a truly unique wine tasting experience. This is an exclusive experience, only available through Luxury Mountain Vacation Rentals, and is one you won’t want to miss.
- Evening: Take your group for a fun night out and indulge in live music and “globally inspired” food at the Globe Cafe & Tapas Bar. Between the delectable tapas, classic cocktails and music, your night at the Globe is the perfect way to end the day. Live music takes place on Thursday to Sunday nights from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm, and reservations are recommended.
#2: A Family-Friendly Big White Itinerary
- Early Morning: Get an early breakfast with the kids at The BullWheel Gastro Family Pub. Start your day with a classic breakfast of bacon, eggs, toast and loaded smashed potatoes, or try their special gourmet Maple Bacon Donut. The pub is located in The Village Centre and makes a perfect destination for a family meal.
- Late Morning: After breakfast, spend the morning teaching the kids how to get down the mountain on the Hummingbird and Woodcutter runs. Both of these runs start from The Village Centre. You could also sign them up for lessons to help them learn how to ski at Big White.
- Early Afternoon: Massage out sore muscles with a private session from Mountain Massage. Mountain Massage is a mobile service that comes directly to your rental suite. This is a great way to relax and work out any kinks from your morning ski, without leaving the comfort of your rental.
- Evening: Enjoy an unforgettable culinary experience with private chefs from Backyard Farm. With seasonal menus chosen just for your group, you’ll enjoy a gourmet dinner without the hassle of cooking it and all within the comfort of your suite. A meal with Backyard Farm will easily be a highlight of your Big White ski trip.
#3: The All-Out Big White Itinerary
- Early Morning: Have a quick but filling breakfast at Sk8er’s Bistro, only steps away from the Happy Valley Adventure Area and skating rink. This bistro will have you fueled on tasty egg croissants, yoghurt parfaits, or a grab-and-go sandwich in no time so that you won’t miss a minute of skiing.
- Late Morning: Want a longer ski that’s not too challenging? Take the Alpine T-Bar to White Foot Trail, which connects to the Powder Bowl trail, before joining up on the Blue Sapphire trail. This trail will eventually transition into the Ogoslow trail. This route will give you a long, nature-filled run down to Gem Lake Base. Here, you can grab a quick snack or a hot drink from the rustic Moonlight Bistro.
- Early Afternoon: Book a specialized tour off the mountain with Discover Okanagan Tours and sip through the wineries of the nearby Kelowna and Okanagan Valley. They also offer transportation services and a variety of different tours, such as wineries, cideries or breweries. They even offer three different winter wine tours, perfect for the ski season when your group wants to explore what the Okanagan has to offer.
- Evening: Keep the evening relaxed with a crowd-pleasing pizza from Underground Pizza. With delivery after 5:00 pm, you can wind down after the busy day and get in your coziest clothes to sit by the fire. Choose a pizza flavour from classics like Pepperoni or Veggie, or try their gourmet flavours like Thai Delight or Moondog. You’ll be able to find tasty pizza options for all the members of your group and keep the evening casual.
