Wondering where Big White Ski Resort is? In short, Big White Ski Resort is located in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. Of course, this might seem a bit vague and may not be very helpful once you’re trying to find us.
To be more specific, Big White Ski Resort is on Big White Mountain (the highest summit in the Okanagan Highland), which is between the Monashee Mountains and the Okanagan Valley, about a 1-hour drive east of Kelowna.

How To Get To Big White Ski Resort
Now that you have the address and an idea of where the resort is, it’s time to figure out how to get to Big White Ski Resort.
There are a few different methods for getting to Big White Ski Resort depending on where you’re coming from. If you’re coming from the city of Kelowna or another area nearby, driving is the best option. However, if you don’t have a car, or would prefer not to drive for your ski vacation, there are a few options to get you to and from the mountain:
1. Rent a car to drive to Big White Ski Resort:
If you don’t have a car or are flying into Kelowna and need transportation, there are a few options for car rentals. Many car rental companies will even have rentals available right out of the Kelowna International Airport (YLW).
However, car rentals aren’t our favourite mode of transportation to and from Big White Ski Resort, especially during the wintertime. For most of our guests, the rental car will sit in the garage and not be used, as you have everything you need right on the mountain within walking or skiing distance (as well as many shuttle options for further destinations). Usually, this means you’ll be paying for a rental you only use a couple of times during your trip. And for those who are uncomfortable with driving in the snow or who have never driven in the winter here in British Columbia before, roads can be treacherous. As technically part of the highway and with hilly, slippery roads, you must legally have snow tires on your vehicle (not just all-season tires). Many car rentals will not be properly equipped with winter tires unless requested. Plus, even if you are hoping to leave the mountain during your ski vacation to nearby attractions or shop in Kelowna, there are plenty of other options to help you get there without needing your own car. We find that it’s usually more convenient, and safer, to use shuttles and transportation services instead of a car rental.
If you would still prefer to have access to your own car and feel that you are a confident driver in snowy conditions, there are plenty of options in Kelowna for car rentals to get you to Big White Ski Resort. Here are some Kelowna-based car rental options:
